 Sheik Mohammed Hussein Ali Al Amoudi
 Chairman and Founder

Sheik MohammedSheik Mohammed Hussein Ali Al Amoudi is the Chairman and Founder of DMC. Born in Ethiopia he made his fortune and wealth in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His investments in Ethiopia are oriented in development entrepreneurship spirit. He has been awarded the “Special Millennium Gold Medal” for his exemplary role in the economic development of Ethiopia. He has also been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy from Addis Ababa University for his contributions in promoting Ethiopia in the field of social and economic development. After the wake of Ethiopian millennium, he has been largely investing in investments of strategic importance to the national economy especially in manufacturing, agriculture and transportation sectors. This is in addition to his investments in MIDROC Ethiopia Group of Businesses. He is the unparalleled philanthropist in Ethiopia.

 Ato Haile Assigdie
Chief Executive Director

Ato HaileAppointed by the Chairman and Founder Sheik Mohammed Hussein Ali Al Amoudi as Chief Executive Director of DMC, in 2006, Ato Haile Assigdie learned his craft as a competent civil engineer followed by a Master’s of science in construction management from the University of Loughborough, UK.  He started his career as a civil servant in Berta Construction Ethiopia, Norwegian Save the Children, Ethiopian Water Works Construction Authority (EWWCA), after which he moved to serve as senior civil servant; Minster of Works and Urban Development and State Minster of Infrastructure Development of the FDRE. He paved the way for the formation  and construction of DMC. Parallel to this, he has been the chief architect in the establishment of Derba Group which provides strategic leadership to Toussa Steel, Derba Transport, Maya pp bag, Dashen Cement, Derba Gypsum and Chemicals, and Saudi Star Agricultural Development, which are incorporated as strategic investments of national importance.

Ato Nebiyu Samuel
Senion Advisor and Special Assistant to Dr. Sheik M. Al -Amoudi

Ato NebyuEducated in the United States, Mr. Nebiyu Samuel has obtained a Masters of Arts (MA) from George Washington University, in Washington D.C and Bachelors of Arts (BA) from State University of New York, New Platz. Mr. Nebiyu Samuel is the Senior Advisor and Special Assistant to the Chairman and Founder. He has been the chief originator and coordinator, along with the CED, of  the game changing initiative being undertaken by the Chairman to invest in strategically important sectors of national importance: steel, mining, cement, agriculture and transport. He closely and actively participates and consults in the supervision and management of the strategic investments, which has fallen under the auspices of Derba Group. He relentlessly maintains close and strong relationship with key senior government officials at the Federal, Regional and Local levels to promote and enhance the Group’s strategies and objectives. Prior to his responsibility in Derba Group, he has over 12 years of experience with the MIDROC Ethiopia Group. Mr. Nebiyu Samuel has also served in the historic Transitional Government of Ethiopia as a member of the Council of Representatives from 1991-1995

Ato Taddesse Kebede
Project Director

Ato Taddesse KebedeAn MBA graduate from Delhi School of Management after holding a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Rookee University, India, Ato Taddesse Kebede is the project Director of DMC. He has extensive executive, project management and operation experiences in both the public and the private sectors. Prior to joining DMC, Ato Taddese has been the General Manager of Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority for over a decade and has also been Chief of Bureau of Water at the Prime Minster office of the FDRE. In his career as a senior civil servant, he had also been the Planning and Programming Services Head of the then Ethiopian Water Works Construction Authority (EWWCA) currently Water Works Construction Enterprise (WWCE).
 

 Ato Tesgaye Asseffa

Director Finance and Accounts

Ato Tesgaye AsefaAto Tesgaye Asseffa holds a Master of Business Administration from Unity University, Ethiopia  and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Addis Ababa University. A certified Accountant from Office of Federal Auditor General (OFAG), he has also certifications in Executive Management form International University Consortium for Executive Education (UNICON). He has broad background in finance and budget management and joined DMC in April 2006 as Finance and Accounts Director. He has held various finance positions within the MIDROC Ethiopia Investment Group before moving to DMC. Prior to joining MIDROC Group,  he has been the Finance Director of Addis Ababa University.

 Ato Dawit Getachew
 Chief Engineer

Ato Dawit GetachewAto Dawit Getachew joined DMC from Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority, where he has been head of Planning and Project Department. Educated in Ethiopia and holding Bachelors of civil engineering from Addis Ababa University, Ato Dawit G has a wide experience in project management and constructions. He started as staff engineer later on held senior position in Batu Construction. He has also been Acting General Manager and Construction Department Head of National Engineers and Contractors. He is currently holding the position of Chief Engineer at DMC.

Ato Dawit Tekeste
Manager Human Resource Development and Administrations

Ato Dawit TeksteAto Dawit Tekeste’s educational background has seen him MBA with specialization in  Human Resource Development after holding Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Bharati Vidyapeeth University, India. Prior to joining DMC, he has worked at Ethiopian Ventures Limited Apex Bottling, SHIMAZAL Plc, African Printing plc, Gast Solar Mechanics plc, East Africa Group plc where he was the HR and Administrative head. He had also been teaching HR and Entrepreneurship at Micro Link College.  Ato Dawit Tekeste’s joined DMC in May 2011 as Human Resource Development and Administrations Manager, the area where he has a wealth of experience

Ato Yohannes G/ kidan
Quality Control and Operations

Ato Yohannes G/ kidan started his career as technical instructor in Addis Ababa University (AAU) after holding a Diploma in Industrial Chemistry for from Bahirdar University.  He holds a Master of Science Degree in chemical engineering from University of Prague, Czech Republic. He has been a staff engineer at EFFORT and later on joined Messobbo Cement Plc where he held senior positions in Quality Control, Quality Control and Production Departments. Joining DMC since August, 2011, he is in charge of Quality Control and Operations.

 

Gidey Gebrhiwot Debess(PhD)
Manager,Quarry

A PhD in Open Cast Mine Engineering after holding BSc and MSc in Mining Engineering from Russian Peoples Friendship University, Moscow, Gidey Gebrhiwot Debess (PhD) has acquired extensive skill and training in geological database, block modeling and operation and maintenance of cement plant.  Before joining DMC he has worked at Messobo cement factory for almost a decade.  He started as Mining expert and later on held senior positions. He had been of head of Quarry Crusher Division and Quarry, Crusher and Auto Garage Department at Messobo.  Gidey Gebrhiwot Debess (PhD) currently holds the position of Manger, Quarry Department at DMC.
